Skateboarder Fatally Struck by Truck on M-66 in Early Morning Sturgis Township Crash

STURGIS TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A person died after being hit by a truck early Thursday morning in Sturgis Township.

At 3:22 a.m., deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office responded to M-66 and Bogen Road in Sturgis Township for a pedestrian crash.

According to deputies, a man was skateboarding on M-66 when he was struck by a Ford F-150 traveling northbound.

Deputies arrived and found the pedestrian gravely hurt. Despite life-saving efforts, the guy was pronounced dead at the site, according to officials.

The driver’s and pedestrian’s names are not being revealed at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
