The Kentucky Wildcats picked up their first basketball commitment for the 2022 class Thursday night.
Five-star guard Skyy Clark announced his commitment to Kentucky and John Calipari via Overtime. The 6-foot-3 junior chose Kentucky over UCLA, North Carolina, and Memphis.
Clark was considered a Kentucky lean for quite some time but North Carolina was a trendy pick the last couple of months. However, Calipari won out in the end and Kentucky has a centerpiece to build the 2022 class around.
Rumors of a possible reclassification have been swirling for a while, but Clark is currently staying in the 2022 class. While that’s the plan now, the five-star guard will certainly put himself in a position to make that jump later if he believes that is best for him.
For now, Kentucky will piece the 2022 class around one of the best scoring point guards in high school basketball.
