Kentucky’s 20-13 win vs. Florida was a needle-moving victory for the program.

Since the win last Saturday, Kentucky has been featured on national shows, most recently with Mark Stoops appearing on SportsCenter Thursday.

The UK coach joined the show to talk about Kentucky’s huge SEC East victory vs. the Gators, but like he always does, Stoops shifted his attention to the next game.

“There’s no denying it was a very big win,” Stoops said. “I said that leading into the game, and of course afterwards. It’s an SEC East team, it’s a team we’ve had our troubles with, there’s no denying that. I’m really proud of the team’s effort this past week. As you know, it’s very short-lived in this conference. We have to turn around and welcome LSU this week, so that’s a pretty big deal.”

Kentucky and LSU will battle at 7:30 p.m. ET. on the SEC Network Saturday night, as the Wildcats aim for the best start of the Mark Stoops era.

The Wildcats have won seven straight games dating back to last season, four of those against SEC competition.

Stoops is confident his team isn’t going to have a letdown vs. the Tigers after the big victory vs. Florida.

“Come Monday, win, lose or draw, whether we’re happy with our performance or not real pleased with it, we’re coming in here and analyzing our mistakes, we’re cultivating the good things that we’re doing,” Stoops said of Kentucky’s mentality. “I feel we have a mature football team. We’re excited about the next opportunity. You have to turn around quick. So we better get it together, have a great week of preparation. I’m very confident in our team that we’re doing that.”
