John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats landed the No. 1 player in the country tonight.
Shaedon Sharpe, the top player in the 2022 class by ESPN, Rivals, and On3, announced his commitment to Kentucky.
Sharpe is the first No. 1 player to commit to Kentucky since Skal Labissiere (Rivals No. 1) in 2015. Nerlens Noel was the top player in the country in 2012.
While Kentucky has had the No. 1 or No. 2 recruiting class in recent years, the elite prospects and Top 5 players were going elsewhere.
Sharpe’s commitment to Kentucky is good for a program looking to get its swagger and confidence back on the recruiting trail.
The Kentucky basketball social media accounts shared a cool video of Calipari following Sharpe’s commitment to Kentucky. Swaggy Cal is back.
