A Texas man is on the run after triggering a horrific vehicle accident that left his wife and four children critically injured. The Houston Police Department is actively looking for the driver, who fled the scene, abandoning his injured family, according to Lawyer Monthly.

All five family members needed immediate medical care and were transported to the hospital. Three are currently in critical condition, with the remaining two in serious condition. The names of the family have not yet been disclosed.

According to the Houston Police Department (HPD), detectives estimate the Ford Expedition was traveling at 100 mph before the collision. The driver of another vehicle tried to turn and swerve to avoid the speeding SUV, but it was too late.
