Three Dead After Being Hit by Amtrak Train in Pennsylvania, Authorities Investigating

An investigation is ongoing after an Amtrak train struck and killed three persons on the tracks in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, authorities said.

According to an Amtrak spokeswoman, on Thursday, April 3, at roughly 6:10 p.m. in Bristol near Prospect and Beaver Streets, an Amtrak train going from Boston to Richmond, Virginia, collided with three people on the tracks.

“When our officers arrived, the sergeant was about to approach the subjects on the railroad tracks when an Accela high-speed train traveling southbound towards Philadelphia collided with all three subjects,” stated Bristol Borough Police Department Chief Joe Moors.

Officials stated that all three people slain were family members.

SEPTA officials announced on social media that the service has been “suspended until further notice due to an Amtrak strike resulting in a fatality” near Bristol Station.

Amtrak train service between Philadelphia and New York was also briefly suspended as a result of the investigation.
