In a car accident that occurred on Thursday, Preston Ordone, who was two years old and known on TikTok as the “Okay Baby,” passed away, as reported by the Louisiana State Police.
It has been reported by the authorities that both of Preston’s parents, Katelynn, 25, and Jaelan Ordone, 27, have suffered significant injuries.
Louisiana State Police have stated that they are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
Officials stated that they reacted to an incident involving a single car that occurred on Interstate 12 in St. Tammany Parish just before noon on Thursday. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2011 Ford F-150 had drifted off the road and collided with a tree.
According to the authorities, Preston showed signs of being “improperly restrained in a child safety seat.” The infant, who was only two years old, passed away at the hospital.
Authorities have stated that the Louisiana State Police emphasise the need of using suitable restraints in order to considerably lower the danger of serious injury or death in the event of an accident. It has been said that the correct usage of seat belts and kid safety seats can be the deciding factor in whether or not a person lives or dies.
On Friday, Glen Norris, Preston’s grandfather, told NOLA that a witness at the scene had informed him that the car seat of the toddler was correctly fastened. The post made by the state police was described by Norris as “hurtful and painful.”
For the purpose of informing the public, raising awareness, and dispelling rumours, the police have issued a statement that can be found online. The statement states that they are aware of how challenging it can be for everyone involved in the accident to receive news releases about the accident.
It was stated that “our goal is never to add to the pain,” but rather that “our responsibility in this age of information is to fulfil our responsibility.”
After NBC News made a request for comment on Monday, Norris did not immediately react to the request.
It was in the year 2023 when Katelynn Ordone, who currently has more than 400,000 followers on TikTok, started sharing videos of Preston.
After Katelynn Ordone posted videos on the internet in which she told Preston not to do something, while he gently responded with “OK” and proceeded to do the act anyway, Preston became fondly known as the “Okay Baby.” Preston, who frequently wore dungarees, became known as the “Okay Baby” online.

Relatives of Katelynn Ordone posted an update on her TikTok account on Sunday, stating that she had several fractured bones and that Jaelan Ordone had undergone emergency surgery, during which pins and rods were implanted in a leg.
According to a relative, the family’s daughter Paisely, who was seven years old at the time of the accident, was still attending school.
This is the hardest post we could possibly make, finding words is still so hard.. We hope that you can help our family in any way possible in this hard time. The family started a GoFundMe page for medical expenses, with more than $30,000 raised by Monday.
“Preston had captured the hearts of many online with his joyful spirit and endearing videos, becoming a beloved figure on social media,” the family’s GoFundMe page states. “His untimely passing has left a profound void in the lives of his parents and the community that cherished him.”
