Two children have died in the crash on Easter morning in the Sano town of Russell County. Today, 12-year-old David King Jr. died at the UK Hospital in Lexington. After the accident on the Sano Mount Olive Road in Russell County at 1:15 AM on Sunday, April 20, 2025, 14-year-old Skyler Huckaby died soon after at RC Hospital.
Kent State Police say that David King, 31, of Columbia, KY, was driving east on Sano Mount Olive Road in a 2009 Chevrolet HHR when he went off the right side of the road and hit a tree. David King was caught and charged with vehicular murder while drunk, DUI third offence, assault first degree two times, wanton endangerment first degree three times, not wearing a seat belt, and careless driving. The Russell County Detention Centre was where he was kept.
A third teen, Skyler Huckaby’s brother, was also in the accident and was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
It will be held on May 3rd to help the families of David King, Jr. and Skyler Huckaby.
