Two Killed, One Injured in Early Morning Crash on Highway 101 in Ventura County

CAMARILLO, Calif. – A two-vehicle crash early Monday morning on Highway 101, south of Carmen Drive, killed two individuals and injured one.

According to the California Highway Patrol’s Ventura Area office (CHP), the collision occurred around 2:55 a.m. on the northbound side of Highway 101, involving a 2015 Ford Mustang and a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta.

According to investigators, the Ford Mustang was going northbound when it collided with the rear of a Volkswagen Jetta that had stopped in the center median.

The CHP reported the two occupants of the Jetta, both adult men, died.

The Mustang’s driver, a 19-year-old Santa Barbara man, suffered minor injuries, according to the CHP.

The northbound lanes of Highway 101 were stopped until around 9 a.m., while authorities investigated the collision.

The CHP stated that drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the deadly crash, but the investigation is ongoing.
