Kentucky Baseball is coming off the most successful season in the history of the program and the Wildcats are aiming to build on their Super Regional appearance. Nick Mingione and staff will be challenged with having to replace so many key pieces around the diamond. Names such as Evan White, Riley Mahan, Zach Reks, Marcus Carson, Tyler Marshall, Connor Heady, Zach Logue and Logan Salow are all gone.

The only way to replace a mass exodus of talent is to bring in one of the nations best recruiting class, which the coaching staff accomplished for 2017. Baseball America ranks the Wildcats 2017 class at No. 9 overall, the second highest rated class in program history. Additionally, Perfect Game has the class slotted at No. 7 nationally.

The class consists of 25 players made up of 16 high school prospects and nine junior college players. Each high school prospect is an All-American and nine were ranked in the Top 500.

To replace the departed talent from last season’s record setting team, the Wildcats needed experienced talent. Eight of the nine junior college players signed were ranked in the Top 150 junior college players nationally.
