UK Signee Tyler Herro Dropped 44 points Friday Night

Kentucky basketball signee Tyler Herro was not included in the list of McDonald’s All-American selections, which is quite puzzling if you look at his statistics.

The 6-5 guard from Whitnall High School has been a scoring machine this season. He continued that trend on Friday night, scoring 44 points in a comeback win vs. Milwaukee Lutheran.

In addition to Friday’s 44-point performance, Herro has posted scoring totals of 42, 34, 43, 31, 43, 38, and 42 this season. The future UK guard is averaging over 29 points per game and entering Friday night’s game, he had knocked down 30 three-pointers in 11 games this season.

I’m no genius but those numbers, along with being a top 40 recruit, should have landed him a spot in the McDonalds All-American game but unfortunately, that was not the case.

Herro came out of nowhere in October after he de-committed from the home state Wisconsin Badgers. It didn’t take him long to decide that Kentucky will be his home and he will get a second look at his future home on Saturday when he travels to Lexington for the UK/Florida matchup. Herro made the announcement via his Twitter account on Friday.

Herro flushed this two-handed dunk in transition for two of his 44 points on Friday.
