For the first time in 1,447 days, John Calipari was able to talk about a Kentucky basketball victory in the NCAA Tournament.

Before Kentucky’s 61-53 win vs. Providence Friday night, the Wildcat’s last tournament win was vs. Houston in March 2019.

Antonio Reeves led the way offensively for Kentucky, pouring in 22 points behind an 8-of-18 performance, including 5-of-9 from three-point range.

Jacob Toppin pitched in offensively, totaling 18 points on 6-of-14 shooting and a 6-of-6 performance from the free throw line.

But the story of the night was Oscar Tshiebwe, who set a new school record with 25 rebounds, the most in an NCAA Tournament game in program history. Jerry Bird set the previous record with 24 vs. Iowa in 1956.

You can hear everything Calipari, Reeves, Toppin, and Tshiebwe said about the win below.
