Watch surprise performance of popular 2000s pop-punk band at Fenway Park

These days, the All-American Rejects are playing everywhere. They have been playing on the field during a game at Fenway Park, in people’s backyards, even in odd bowling alleys.

The well-known pop-punk band from the 2000s made an unexpected visit during the Savannah Bananas’ two-game stay at the Boston Red Sox’s historic home over the weekend.

Cameras captured Tyson Ritter, the band’s lead vocalist, interacting with fans in the stands following the conclusion of the fifth inning. Ritter then started singing “Gives You Hellas” before heading to the field to join the rest of the band in their performance.

The performance is available for viewing here.

That performance took place during a play stoppage. But in a live at-bat, the All-American Rejects would make a second appearance. That occurred when Bananas slugger Alex Ziegler reached the plate in the bottom of the eighth inning. During Ziegler’s at-bat, the band played Swing, Swing live on the field just outside the home dugout.

A risk to safety? Perhaps. A cool show? Of course.

The Bananas, a well-known demonstration baseball team that traverses the nation playing under special regulations known as Bananaball, are accustomed to such antics. Consider them baseball’s Harlem Globetrotters.

The Bananas defeated the Firefighters in both of their games at Fenway. The Bananas YouTube page has replays of both games at Fenway.

The well-known pop-punk group, the All-American Rejects, has been playing at unusual locations across the nation this year, including house parties. The group, which was founded in 1999, rose to fame in the 2000s with singles including “Move Along,” “Dirty Little Secret,” and the two songs they sang at Fenway.

After a ten-year break, the band resumed touring in 2023. The All-American Rejects started releasing new singles earlier this year, and their whole album is scheduled for release in 2026.
