Kentucky sophomore forward Wenyen Gabriel has had his NBA Draft decision on his mind for quite some time. He finally made the choice to declare on Wednesday afternoon but he also left the door open for a return to Kentucky by doing so without an agent.

Fans have been waiting and anticipating this decision for weeks and it’s clear that reaching the NBA is Gabriel’s dream. The UK sophomore has posted multiple pictures to his Instagram about his decision and it was evident that is was weighing on him.

Gabriel did make the right decision by deciding to test the waters without hiring an agent. He can receive feedback and then make a final decision on May 30th. There are multiple NBA Draft projections and Gabriel’s name isn’t included in any of them.

Moments after the announcement was made by UK, Gabriel tweeted the image an image with the following statement.

“My dream has always been to play professionally. After talking with Coach Cal and the staff, they believe it’s in my best interest to see where I stand in the eyes of the NBA. I’m confident I can play at the next level, but I want to be absolutely certain that this is the right decision for me at this time. I know that I have the opportunity to return to school and that I will have the full support of the coaching staff and the Big Blue Nation. No matter what happens, I love this university and all the opportunities it’s been able to provide me.”

Gabriel also added the following caption to his tweet, saying that “everybody has a dream.”
