All he does is win; Zach Logue turns in another scoreless performance

Vancouver Canadians pitcher Zach Logue turned in another solid performance on Thursday. The left-hander picked up a victory vs. Tri-City, his third win of the summer, and second with Vancouver.

Logue, a 6-0, 165lb pitcher from Mason, OH., was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 9th round of the 2017 MLB Draft. Since that day, all he has done is strike out opponents and win games.

Following a ten run bottom of the second inning, Logue replaced Justin Dillon prior to the top of the 3rd. Logue pitched from the 3rd to the 5th inning, allowing no runs and one hit, while walking one and striking out three.

Through 8 games and 19 innings pitched, Logue has only given up eleven hits and two earned runs. The former Wildcat has been a strikeout machine, striking out 23 opposing hitters. Thursdays three innings of dominance, also led to Logue lowering his ERA to 0.95 for the summer.

Logue began his minor league career in late June, and since that day, he has been everything the Blue Jays hoped he would be. Just recently, Logue had his scoreless innings streak snapped at ten, but Thursday’s solid performance has him back on track.

The win gives Logue a 3-1 start to his minor league career. There is no doubt that Logue, along with Zach Reks, has been one of the standout players early on in the minor leagues.

Logue will take his usual five days of rest and prepare to win game number four next week. Big Blue Nation misses the Logue family, but I know just like myself, they are proud of what he is achieving while chasing his dream.

Best of luck, Zach! Keep making BBN proud.
