KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Even though it’s cold in East Tennessee now, some people were out walking around downtown and in Market Square. A Boston family is coming to Knoxville for the first time. They were upset that they couldn’t get away from the cold weather they usually have back home.
Laura Brown said, “It feels like we’re just walking around Boston right now.” “We really thought warmer weather would be coming down, but we brought it with us.”
You should make sure you stay warm since the cold weather is still around. Laura and Neve, her daughter, were ready.
“I brought my hat.” With my hat and scarf, I’m dressed like I do in New England. She said, “Layers are the way to go.” The power pack I had with me was at home. This is a warm jacket, but I didn’t think I would need it. I wish I had it.
Neve said, “I was going to wear skirts or jeans under my sweatpants.” “Zip up my winter coat all the way.” Cover twice as much.
Because of the winter rain we saw earlier Wednesday, the Browns didn’t think the roads would be in such bad shape.
Laura said, “It was surprising how clear the highways were.” “We thought there wouldn’t be much or any snow removal, so we slowed down, but the roads were really clear.”
The Browns told 6 News that they are not afraid of the cold and plan to return when it gets better.
It’s very strange for us because we’re from the North. She said, “We were really hoping for a warm up, but it didn’t happen.” “We are getting ready for pretty typical New England weather tomorrow. It will be cold with the wind chill and everything.” We’ll have to come back when it gets warmer.
Since it was cold, not many people were walking around. Some of the wet spots on the concrete were beginning to freeze. The ones I talked to said they were just looking for a warm place to go.
