The Kentucky men’s basketball team posted a 3.763 team GPA for the Spring semester, the University of Kentucky announced Thursday.

Earlier this week, the men’s basketball team was one of a record seven UK programs to receive an APR award for finishing in the top 10% of Academic Progress Rate.

The APR measures academic eligibility, retention, and graduation. The scores are a four year composite beginning in 2015-2016 and covering through the 2018-2019 school years.

John Calipari took a moment Thursday to praise his team for completing the semester and keeping their word, even during difficult times with COVID-19.

“Proud of our team for posting a 3.763 GPA the spring semester,” Calipari said. “Between this and the NCAA’s APR Top 10% Award for the sixth season in a row, just goes to show our players’ commitment — no matter what their next destination is — to finish the semester strong.

“Even during unprecedented times and a difficult situation, they kept their word and remained focused on academics. A commitment to being lifelong learners — all of our guys!”
