National Media Reacts to Reed Sheppard’s Performance vs. Miami

Kentucky freshman guard Reed Sheppard has looked like the best player on the floor for Kentucky this season.

Sheppard poured in a game-high 21 points in Tuesday’s 95-73 win vs. Miami at Rupp Arena. The London, Kentucky, native knocked down 8-of-13 shots, including 5-of-9 from three-point range.

Even though he has been excellent through seven games, the college basketball world took notice of Sheppard’s performance vs. Miami.

Reed Sheppard has faced the pressure of being his father’s son since he was a very young player. He ain’t the first son of a college basketball hero to play at his parent’s alma mater. But I cannot recall a player handling the pressure better than he has so far. Incredible poise.
