Reed Sheppard is only in his sophomore season at North Laurel High School in London but he’s already one of the hottest recruiting names in the state of Kentucky.
Division I offers started rolling in for Sheppard earlier this year and it’s only the beginning.
Sheppard, the son of former Kentucky Wildcats Jeff and Stacey Reed Sheppard, now holds four Division I scholarship offers.
Rick Pitino, Jeff’s coach at Kentucky from 1993-1997 and now the head coach at Iona, offered Sheppard a scholarship earlier this week.
In addition to Iona, Sheppard also holds an offer from High Point and Tubby Smith, the former UK coach who coached Jeff and the 1998 Wildcats to the program’s seventh NCAA title.
Sheppard also owns offers from South Alabama and Stetson.
The sophomore guard started the season off strong with a 37-point triple double vs. Pikeville last Tuesday. He averaged 20.6 points per game as a freshman.
