John Calipari has loaded up on his Dunkin Donuts coffee and is hitting the spring recruiting trail hard over the next week.
The UK head coach has already visited 2019 five-star point guard Tyrese Maxey and he is completing an in-home visit today with top-five 2019 target Matthew Hurt. This is just the beginning of many visits that Calipari will make before a brief dead period beginning on April 13th.
It has already been reported by Ben Roberts that Calipari will stop in to see 2019 UK commit D.J. Jeffries on Saturday and now, according to Corey Evans of Rivals, Calipari will had to south Florida on Saturday to meet with top prospect for 2019, Vernon Carey Jr.
Carey, a 6-foot-9, 245-pound power forward from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is ranked the No. 1 prospect for 2019 by Rivals and No. 2, according to 247 Sports. Carey holds an offer from Kentucky, in addition to offers from Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, Michigan State, and Miami among others.
