Kentucky men’s basketball coach John Calipari was named NABC District 20 Coach of the Year.
Calipari led the Wildcats to their 49th SEC regular season championship, the sixth with the UK coach at the helm.
Kentucky was in position to earn one of the top seeds in the NCAA Tournament before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of postseason play.
Overall, Calipari led the Wildcats to a 25-6 record, the 26th straight 20-win season for the UK coach, the longest active streak in the country.
In addition to being named District 20 Coach of the Year, Calipari has already collected SEC Coach of the Year (Coaches) and USBWA District IV Coach of the Year honors. The UK coach is also a Naismith National Coach of the Year semifinalist.
