Kentucky Volleyball Opens Season with Sweep of Texas State

The Kentucky Volleyball team opened the 2021 season Friday with match one of a three-match tournament in Dayton, Ohio.

The defending national champions kicked off the 2021 campaign with a straight-sets victory vs. Texas State (25-18, 25-7, 25-14).

Senior Ali Stumler led the way offensively with 14 kills, followed by Reagan Ruthford with five.

Freshman Emma Grome was impressive in her Kentucky debut, recording 32 assists in the win. Sophomore Riah Walker carried the Cats defensively with 13 digs.

Kentucky is back in action tonight at 7 p.m. ET. vs. Dayton with coverage on ESPN+ and the ESPN app. The Wildcats will conclude the event vs. Cincinnati at Noon ET. on Saturday.
