While an NCAA Tournament field that would include every eligible Division I team sounds exciting, it’s not happening.
Wednesday afternoon, the ACC proposed expanding the tournament field to include all 346 eligible Division I teams in 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic stripping all teams of the opportunity last season.
On Thursday morning, Dan Gavitt released the following message via Andy Katz, stating that the NCAA is “not working on any contingency plan that involves expanding the tournament field.”
