Kentucky Continues to Trend for Five-Star Ashton Hagans

Kentucky is picking up steam in the recruitment of Ashton Hagans, a five-star point guard for the 2019 class.

Hagans, a 6-4, 185-pound guard from Covington, Georgia, could possibly make the jump to the 2018 class. He was committed to Georgia but decided to open his recruitment just weeks before the Bulldogs decided to part ways with former head coach Mark Fox.

Kentucky hasn’t extended a scholarship offer but with the Wildcats set to most likely lose Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Hamidou Diallo, and Kevin Knox, John Calipari could extend an offer to the five-star guard. Hagans’ father told the Courier-Journal that Calipari hasn’t made him a priority yet but that they would love for the Wildcats to recruit him.

“We would love for Kentucky to recruit him along with everybody else,” said Marvin Hagans.

Despite not making him a priority, the last five predictions in Hagans’ 247 Sports Crystal Ball have been in favor of Kentucky with Jerry Meyer being the latest to log a prediction for the Wildcats.

Even though the recruitment has been kept quiet on both ends, a source told Go Big Blue Country this afternoon that Hagans to Kentucky is a real possibility and it could be for 2018. As the season comes to a close, hopefully after a national championship in two weeks, we should have more information about the direction this is trending. Until then, check out highlights of Hagans below.
