Fireworks came early for BBN when a three-star talent for the 2021 class committed to Mark Stoops and the Kentucky football program Saturday afternoon.

Martez Thrower, a three-star outside linebacker, gave his verbal to attend Kentucky. Thrower made the announcement public in a video published by Cats Illustrated.

Thrower chose the Wildcats over offers from Arkansas, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, and Tennessee, among others.

“I will be taking my talents to Kentucky,” Thrower said in the video below. “Kentucky has made me a priority since early in my high school career. Coach Sumrall and the rest of the staff came in and recruited me early, made me a priority since then.”

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound linebacker is rated No. 42 at his position by the 2021 247Sports Composite Rankings while Rivals lists Thrower as the No. 41 outside linebacker in the nation.

Thrower is the thirteenth commitment for Kentucky’s 2021 class.
