Mark Stoops could be on the move after eleven seasons as the head coach at Kentucky.
According to Mark Passwaters of AggieYell.com, Stoops is likely to be the next head coach at Texas A&M, barring a last-minute collapse.
Reports surfaced early Saturday morning that Stoops was on the shortlist of candidates for the Aggies, who fired Jimbo Fisher earlier this month.
Stoops concluded the regular season with a 38-31 win vs. No. 10 Louisville on Saturday afternoon. When asked about the A&M vacancy, Stoops chose to keep the focus on Kentucky’s victory.
“Come on, you know better than that,” Stoops said Saturday. This is a big win for our state and our program and our team. You know how good I’ve been at keeping my concentration and focus on this team. That’s all it is.”
