Mark Stoops will not be the next head coach at Texas A&M.
Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio reported the news early Sunday morning that Stoops will be the head coach at Kentucky next season. Pete Thamel confirmed the report a few minutes later.
Late Saturday night, Mark Passwaters of AggieYell.com reported that Stoops was likely to be the next head coach in College Station, barring a last-minute collapse. That last-minute collapse appears to have happened.
The reports of Stoops to Texas A&M were met with frustration from Aggie fans. In the end, Stoops is staying put at Kentucky, bringing an end to a rollercoaster day for Big Blue Nation.
