Mark Stoops met with the media Monday to preview Kentucky’s Southeastern Conference opener at Florida set for Saturday night.
Much like last week, the UK coach didn’t have an update on the situation surrounding Chris Rodriguez and Jordan Wright. Both players were missing from the depth chart again this week.
“I wish I did guys. I wish I did,” Stoops said when asked if he had an update. “Being a holiday today I don’t have anything I can report. Again, I’ve always been transparent with you and tried to be the best I can.”
Stoops did add that he’s been advised and cannot comment on the situation surrounding the two team captains.
“Again, I’ve been advised, there are things going on, there are layers to this. I’ve been advised I cannot comment on it. I’m not trying to hide things from you.
“If I could say it I would. I’m not trying to hold anything back. I can’t be any more clear on it. I’ve been advised not to say. I think you can understand it’s out of my hands.”
