Stoops Says Six Charged Players not Practicing with Team

UK Athletics

Kentucky coach Mark Stoops met with local media following the second scrimmage of fall camp Saturday.

The UK coach said that the six Wildcats who were charged with first-degree burglary on Thursday – RJ Adams, JuTahn McClain, Andru Phillips, Earnest Sanders, Joel Williams, and Vito Tisdale – aren’t practicing with the team right now.

The incident happed in March 2021 at a fraternity party. Stoops is waiting for more information before the players return to the team.

“I’m not sure when they’ll be back,” Stoops said. “I need to see in this discovery if there’s something we don’t know about.”

“They deserve the opportunity to defend themselves,” Stoops added.

First-degree burglary charges were issued to all six players earlier this week, including a wanton endangerment charge against Tisdale.
