Kentucky Contacts Texas Tech Transfer Terrence Shannon Jr.

Texas Tech’s season came to an end with their loss to Duke Thursday night. And one of the Red Raider’s best players is already entering the transfer portal.

Terrence Shannon Jr., a three-year player at Texas Tech, entered the transfer portal Friday.

Kentucky has already reached out, along with UConn, Illinois, and Michigan.

Shannon has great size at 6-foot-7 and was a willing defender on an elite defensive team this season. He averaged 10.4 points per game this season and shot 38.4 percent from three-point range.

Kentucky assistant coach Chin Coleman would play a key role in this recruitment if Kentucky strongly pursues it.

Coleman served as head coach of the Chicago-based Mac Irvin Fire AAU squad from 2005 to 2011, the program Shannon played for. Coleman’s ties to that program and the Chicago area are strong.
